Diya is Duke University’s South Asian Student Association. Diya is the Hindi/Urdu word meaning “light”, and every year Duke Diya seeks to shed light on the culture, traditions and values of the South Asian community. Duke Diya represents the six major nations of South Asia: India. Pakistan. Bangladesh.Founded in 1997, NASALSA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a strong network and community among South Asian law students and legal professionals throughout the U.S. and Canada.The South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA) provides scholarships for South Asian American students pursuing journalism. In 2023, up to $20,000 will be distributed up to 10 students , each receiving a maximum award of $2,000.
